Do you believe in destiny?

And no, that's not just some cheesy pitch for one of my upcoming novels, my dears. No, that's going to be today's thinking cap question. But I'll get to that later.

First I'd like to address SKYRIM. My first impression of it was "oh, my gods above, this is beautiful" ......and then the game crashed. One minute I'm looking at this blond Nord dude on a prison cart, the next I'm starring at my brother's LEGO wallpaper. The appropriate reaction was the one I had: "whuh.... dafuq?!?" So I got my dad and he fixed it with magic and now it lags. That right there is the worst four letter word in the world. Not hate, not any curse word you can think of. Lags. Shudder. But it's not too bad and the game runs fine now. I'm making slow progress, but to be honest, I'm not keen on rushing into anything. Overall, SKYRIM is a win for me.

Next I'll address everyone's answers on the magic topic from the post before last. Spirit, I agree. I don't think anyone will ever understand magic. Fungus.... first, the picture is from the Disney charter bus. That's my head, my dad in the blue shirt, and my mom in the back waving (her hand is in front of my sister's face, ha). Second, I think it's interesting you see it as simple energy.

I have differing opinions on most things. I think magic is an energy. I think it's stored in things around us. A sunrise, a smile, a moment in time. In music and thought and emotion. I think magic is only "good" or "evil" in the way you use or see that magic. And what I strongly believe is that humans do have magic. We don't always see it. But we can feel it in a good book, in a song, and in a story. Can you guess what it is? I think magic is in imagination.

A quote before the questions and before I go. "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." Corinthians 13:13, I think (not totally sure, since I haven't actually read the Bible).

Now. Questions. Get thinking, you lot. Do you believe in destiny? Is everything predetermined in the strands of time? Does it matter if you fight or give up? Is everything exactly the same if whether you were handed your "end point" or earned it? Do you end up in the same place no matter what you do? Or can the future be changed enough that destiny is null and void? And, given the choice of foresight or retrospection, which would you choose? (Seer or Spirit Walker ;))

M'kay. Later.

A quick note...

This'll be fast; in my next post I'll answer comments and whatever stuff I need to do.

But for this post, I will do nothing except say....

SKYRIM IS OUT. OH, YES. I got my big box collector's edition the moment 11.11.11 started in Texas. The reason why this post is delayed is because I've been a) reading my collector's edition guide, b) itching to install Skyrim, c) looking at comcept art, or d) trying to keep my brother away from the mentioned three things, as well as my draon model that came with my game and books.

It's installing as we speak... and I just got up to check if it's done, which it nearly is, so peace out.

FOR SKYRIM. (I'll talk about it in depth later. Waaaaay later ;D)

Heh.

My apologies. I sorta got caught up in everything. Life, writing, school. Ya know how it goes.

So.... I went to Disney world on the 21st of October and came back on the 30th (late at night...) and I would just like to share that it was freaking amazing. Which leads us to the think-topic of the day.

What is your opinion on magic? Is it unholy, impure? Or is it purity in essence? Are there other worlds, other dimensions, out there that are the subject of our human myths and legends and stories? Did we humans as a race have magic at some point? Do we still have magic? While we're at it, what is magic? Where is it stored? Does it have a different name? Is it sentient?

On a totally different topic, I need some help. Not sure you lot can lend that help or not... but if you are/know anyone who is Hindu, then please speak up. I've been researching the Hindu religion and mythology/stories and it took me literally three hours yesterday to find sufficient works on the first incarnation of Vishnu. And if anyone can explain Dharma to me in English I'll give you a cookie and award you a gold star on my blog. You ask why I need to learn this? Tough school essay, perhaps? Am I converting? Actually, no. I'm torturing myself trying to find an internet source other than Wikipedia for fun. Seriously, though, I need it for Retro-Specter. Plus I like knowing things other people don't. Thus the need to find someone with first-hand knowledge of all things... well, Hindu.

I'm so specific, ain't I?

Right-o. I gotta go. Peace out.

Mediator

Because it's so much fun trying to stop an argument.

Someday I'm just going to give up and become part of the problem instead.

Yes, boys and girls, my advice for this post is to avoid arguments. Because you can't win. EVER.

Cue the crickets.... and new topic. How's everyone? How's school? All that fun stuff. I've been busy (not) editing Retro-Specter. I'm actually almost a third of the way through. This weekend I get to stay with my grandparents, which'll be fun. They've apparently read part of Retro-Specter--at least, my grandmother has--so I'll have more input to edit.

Today I want to ask everyone's opinion on a certain topic. It's been on my mind for a while, mostly because I've been redesigning some of the themes in my book. Anyways, here's my question/statement to get you guys thinking.

Who are we to determine who lives and who dies? We are merely human, not a god. Preserving life is within our power as is ending life. But just because the power to end life is available, does it mean we should take it? Or is it the other way around? The world is full of death and if we are able to do something, we should? If someone hurts someone else, return fire is only karma? Is karma just an excuse? Is there a line where something goes from karma to vengence?

I want to hear your thoughts.

No chlorine.

I withdrew from swimming. I won't be on the team until at least Christmas, likely longer.

My tip of the day has to do with dealing with family. On a weekday, usually everyone is at school, or at work, or you just don't have to deal with any of them until the evening. That is not the case on weekends at my house. Saturdays and Sundays, it is very rare that we go anywhere or do anything. Hey, I have a kinda big family, and all my siblings are younger than me, so travelling is a hassle.

What do you do when your annoying sibling refuses to clean up after him/herself?

If you're smart, you shut up, kick the whatever it is under the bed or couch, and go along with your business. Or if you're stubborn (like me) you tell them repeatedly every five minutes to pick it up until they do.

And I wonder why my siblings think I'm mean. See? I can be reasonable. (That would be my daily life tip. If you don't have siblings, this applies to intelligent animals. Except cats. Everyone knows that cats only allow us to live in the same place as them because we provide entertainment.)

Quote of the day: "All the art of living lies in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on." --Henry Ellis

And last, some Retro-Specter news. I finished editing chapter nine, so as soon as chapter ten is looked over, both will go up.

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

Here's the deal.

Actually there is no deal. I guess that's just one of those phrases. Anyways, here's what's going on that's keeping me from posting often. First would be that I'm editing. I spend my free time editing, or trying not to pull my hair out. And editing is kind of stressful. Second, I have school. Sure, my school doesn't take as much time, and it's set to a specific time, but school is still school. And it is also stressful. Third, I have life. In less than a month I am going to Disney in Flordia for ten days. There's me, but that's a whole story in of itself. Fourth, I have swimming two hours every day, plus an hour for travel, and thirty minutes to get ready for bed. So that's three and a half hours.

Speaking of swimming, you'll hear more about that later this week.

I'm going to attempt to be sharing my writing tips in a blog post every day or on a separate page of the blog. Along with that, I'm going to try to pass on a quote or "life tip" every post.

But that's later.
Now I leave.

Friday, September 16, 2011

"Don't mess with the wizard when he's wizarding."

That's a quote from The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Fantastic books, and I urge any fan of fantasy and mystery to go check it out. (I will warn you that is has some... questionable content, not limited to gore and cussing....) The first book is Storm Front, if anyone actually wants to read it.

I pulled my hipflexer muscle, I think, or sprained it really bad. So I won't be attending practice until Monday... maybe. I'm sitting here with a heating pad on it, typing this post and my edits with one hand, photo editing with the other hand, and trying to show my brother home to beat this part of Oblivion. So productive. So sue me.

Speaking of Oblivion... Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim comes out November 11, 2011 (if you didn't catch it, that's 11.11.11). Totally excited, I've had it on preorder for over a month. Dragons and double wielding. I'm such a nerd.

Anyways. Bye.

Sunday, September 11, 2011

I redid my blog :D

I like this one better now. I'd love to redesign it a special way, but I'm too much of a fail with technology.
Short post just to say you're NOT in the wrong place.

Covers, covers

How I love them ♫

I'll be posting a short story to inkpop soon, probably in a week. I have two lovely covers! I want you to choose one!

Made by YuffieProductions

Made by ForeverisNow
Yeah, I know I said no short stories or genfic, or really anything since Retro-Specter is being edited. But I have to write this anyways for school, so I'm going to post it as well. It means a lot to me.

A sad good-bye or see-ya-later to Swapnav Deka, who has left COPS for the time being, and may be going to LAC. COPS is expensive ._. and it's completely outrageous. I may be going individual, but I haven't decided. 2000 bucks a year is just dumb.

Saturday, September 3, 2011

Thank you for the help!

I got my cover! All I need is a short pitch!
Made by Chenny Boom
It's wonderful 8D

And I'll be posting a new project to inkpop. A short story, believe it or not. Here's my improvised cover:

Yeah. So..... Have a nice labor day! :D *poof*

Saturday, August 27, 2011

Even more help, please?

Hana: You need to get on inkpop >_> Fungus: *facepalm* Forget it. I'm crapping the photos after I get votes. The covers won't actually be that size or shape.

Picture five. I would be using the left-hand side of the picture, cutting out the spaceship.

Picture six (one of my personal favorites). Yes, it's pixelated. Deal with it.
The kick-off party at Jack Carter was fun! Two hours of chlorine made me a happy girl.
I have nothing better to say. *poof*

Thursday, August 25, 2011

I need more help.

So picture one won last time. To Hana: thank you :D and where the heck have you been?!?! To Fungus: Thanks for helping, and how is it funny that someone would trip off a cliff? And who said she fell on purpose?

Anyways....

Picture three

Picture four

Pick your favorite. Please and thank you.

School's started. I have to do an entire semester of math again because the program changed. Already got two units done, though, so that's my small way of saying "suck on that, algebra". I got bumped up to ninth grade... only to find out it's the EXACT same reading as eigth grade. So I only look forward to A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickenson, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, and Romeo and Juliet (if you don't know the author, I'd like to know where you've been hiding for the past five centuries).

History is fun because the books aren't written by the state >:D so they're a) TRUE b) SEMI-OPINIONATED (and it doesn't hide the fact that the bad guys were really bad guys) and c) FUN.

Science has been easy so far.

Yeah, my life in a nutshell. Oh, I'm on chapter seven of Retro-Specter, which was originally chapter 9.

I'm going to the beginning-of-the-season swim party at Jack Carter tomorrow, 7 pm to 9pm. Should be fun.... get to meet all the new coaches, none of whom will actually be coaching me. Lastly, round of applause for Swapnav, who I think coerced Ted into moving him up to Junior Silver (heheh~ I said nothing...).

Valete. *~poof~*

Sunday, August 21, 2011

I need a little help.

I've been picture hunting for covers for the Retro-Specter sequel. Every day I'll post two pictures everyday until I have a winner. Consider the two for every day, and compare them to the most recent ones. Leave your vote in your comment.

Picture One

Picture Two
The theme is Egyptian/desert, if anyone thinks they have a better picture. I need to it "match" this in some way.

Please? Thanks.

The swim party was fun. I was the only girl there, but whatever, that's not anything new. Aras, Avery, Swapnav, Ali, and Alex were there :P but Ashley couldn't make it. I have a nice video that I'm too lazy to upload and a bunch of pictures of the five of them acting like morons. Which isn't anything new, either.

Anyways, vote. Now. >:D

Thursday, August 18, 2011

I'm actually going to use this blog for what it was meant for!

PROMOTION. Well, that's not really why I made it... but that's what it's for.

THE BOOK OF THE DAY IS..... The Guardian Legend by YuffieProductions!

If the fate of the world lies in his hands, I'd best say goodbye to the human race.

Welcome to Altima, a world protected by yours truly. Guardian Kairi at your service. Well, there's Cleon, too, but that boy is a magical blunder. He was born first, so the Gods probably made him, realized their mistake, then created me as repentance. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what happened.

Unfortunately, there's no doubt that he's a Guardian like me. We are mentally connected; yes, I'm talking telepathy. But it goes farther than that, farther than either of us want it to go.

We're essentially the same person separated into two bodies. They say we're fated to become one, and there will be a miracle when it happens. I'd rather eat a vat of live spiders than become "one" with that Booger-Butt, whatever becoming "one" even means. But war is threatening the Balance, and of course, everyone turns to us. The Guardians. Their protectors. But I'm starting to find out that the world I see with my eyes is just an illusion. Slowly, I'm piecing together the horrifying truth:

Cleon isn't going to protect Altima.

He's the one destined to destroy it.

Isn't that exciting? Guys, I've read all that Yuffers has up, and it's brilliant. Plot = amazing. Writing = captivating. You will go here.  Now.

What are you waiting for?

Monday, August 15, 2011

"I died.

....But I got better."
If you know where the quote came from you get a pat on the head.

Sooo.... I've been kinda busy editing, reading... watching The Matrix... being bored. That's why I haven't posted recently *grin* I was doing my phoenix impression.

School starts in a week, yay. It'll give me even less time to edit, but at least it'll keep me from being bored, and I should be in 9th grade by October. Sweetness. Which means I'll be in 10 grade next year~ heh.

Not sure how I feel about swimming groups.... a lot of people are whining but I personally couldn't care less. The party is on Saturday at 1:45, if anyone is going.

Peace out. *poof*

Thursday, August 4, 2011

Today is Thursday.

It is also motivational picture day >:D

That pretty much wraps up motivational picture day. I felt the need to post these, since they're freaking awesome.

I swam okay at the meet today, but I'm still starving, and rather bored. Got some editing done...
Yeah. Bye~

Tuesday, August 2, 2011

You Know What Happens When You Get Bored?

You write a pitch for a new story, make it from letter k to letter s in your music on your iTouch, and make character pictures for the mentioned new story.

Meet the Umbrati team, from Severed Ties.
Igni Marn, creature communicator, and her pet Eiothne. Yes, her pet's a dragon.
Hewitt, the inside man. Yes, that's Eragon.
Mona Starblade, kicked-out princess, secret keeper.
Saxton Merillon, brainiac of the group. Let's ignore that he looks like Nikolas from Maiden's Code, and that dude from Eragon.... Murtagh-something or other.
Nita Veritas, archer, tracker, grifter.
Andaes Headsplitter, ex-military.
YEAH. I got bored. VEEERY bored. Tah-dah.

Oh, swim team party status: since everyone keeps asking what day it's on instead of saying where they wanna go, Main Event is winning, but we really don't have very many votes overall XD

Meow.

I AM A CAT. (That's not the gif of the day.)

That's not it either, but hugs for all of you, haha.

Yup, I'm tooootally procrastinating now.

And now I'm lazy..... So one more gif and I leave.

M'KAY BYE NOW.

Wednesday, July 27, 2011

What was that noise?

Did you make that sound? Cuz it wasn't me. ANYWAYS.....

I've been editing a lot, got some more work done, looked through some mods for Oblivion (but haven't actually downloaded any yet...) and just running around like a crazy person. Which would call for my second gif of the day, to increase your health....

I found that incredibly amusing, though I suppose it looks kinda gross. I still laughed pretty hard. All writers feel like this sometimes, I think.

Today was my homemade Sanctuary marathon. Lots of popcorn, only getting up to get ice cream and switch disks out of the PS3, and going to get water. I feel so lazy.

I'm sorry, I'm just so bored, and I have like 30 Sanctuary gifs. BY THE WAY, if anyone finds any more, I will love you for all enternity, sing you a song on my blog/promote your book (or both), and pat you on the head. Please? *puppy dog eyes*

Alrighty. Bye-bye. *poofs to add gifs*

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

I'm going to try something new.

I know I have all these gifs, and while they are posted on the Random Pictures, I still want to put them here. So I'm doing this new thing. A Gif-A-Day. So today is...

He liked it! Dad liked it! He liked the shot! Yaaaay~!

IT'S OLIVIA'S BIRTHDAY. HAAAAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY, OLIVIA.
Sweet girl, promoted Retro-Specter on her birthday (today). So I'm dedicating this blog post to her, and this gif of Amanda Tapping jumping up and down in excitment and Jonathon Young just smiling and walking away. From the set of Sanctuary.

I went to Medieval Times last night. Guys whacking each other with magnesium-lined swords, and dessage horses. It was cool, and a lot of fun. I would go again if it wasn't so expensive.

I tried out Dungeon Siege III, but I kinda suck at it. I'm too used to playing Oblivion.

So, I'll see you later, hopefully tomorrow.

Sunday, July 24, 2011

I'm sorry D:

Yes, yes, I should have posted sooner. I added two pages, covers and random pictures, so I can have links to pics that I have saved on my computer, and so I can make covers for other people.

I finished Retro-Specter over a month ago. Heh~

I've edited 5 chapters (which is actually now four) and downloaded a bunch of music.

And I bought Dungeon Siege III.

I'll post again. Someone yell at me, please, so I remember.

Monday, June 27, 2011

I'm Back! :D

What's the oh-so-special occasion to make me post, you ask? Well, the first would be that I'm trying to make sure I post more often. That is sorta connected with point two....

I AM ONE SCENE FROM FINISHING RETRO-SPECTER.

*clears throat* Hell yeah.

Also, I wanna show you a lovely picture ~Ella Rose~ edited for me to make it look like Arthur Crow :D

AND THEN SHE CROPPED IT TO MAKE IT AN AVATAR.

TA DAH.
That guy is Nolan Gerard Funk. Yes, he looks like Logan Lerman.
So yeah, that's my life. OH. Retro-Specter has a book site. http://www.retrospecter.webs.com/ Again, hell yeah.

Tomorrow I'll actually talk about something important.

Sunday, May 29, 2011

Fun -.-

Not. Sunburn? Check. Crappy first chapter? Check. Extremely annoying parents? Check.

Right now, I just need someone to talk to. And the person I need won't answer my texts, emails or calls. So much for friendship, huh?

I did something I haven't done in two years... I pulled out my Huntress necklace. And I pulled out my journal. And I started to write again. But not like anything you see on inkpop.

I really don't want to explain. You guys wouldn't understand....

I now have a Phoenix talisman/pendant, along with my hunt necklace. Coincidence? I think not.

Later guys. I gotta go find my Artemis Fowl books, since I cant write anythingdecent myself.

Friday, May 27, 2011

*sigh again*

Nick decided move-ups today. Let's have a round of applause for Brian, Susan, Anyel and Fungus who would have moved up as well :] You are probably wondering why I'm not angry. Well, I am, but I knew it would happen so I can't be so mad. If you know why, feel free to share.

"No one is worth your tears, and the one who is won't make you cry." This is sorta stuck on me right now. I just need someone to talk to.

Later, guys.

Thursday, May 26, 2011

My Life....

.... it sucks.

Tonight Tonight by Hot Chelle Rae. Love it. (Its a song.)

So, Im probably not moving up, even after a year. Ive screwed up by getting sick and all this crap thats wrong with me. I can kiss SR3 good-bye. I wont see it til after Christmas, the way Im going now ._. and Im very close to throwing in the towel on the entire sport. Maybe a year will help me sleep at night.

So Im writing chapter 27 or 28, I dont remember really. Its fun, but not as fun as the next... two? Three? Guess what. I kill a character. IM NOT TELLING WHO. Michelle knows, so dont spoil, Michelle. If you do, Im changing the storyline.

Oh, I forgot, yall duno who the antagonist is yet *smirks*

Night yall.

Wednesday, May 25, 2011

Merp.

I am posting today only because I feel the need to post.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Tuesday, May 24, 2011

So... crap.

I finally learn to play Pachisi, the Indian Cross and Circle game, I can sit down and write Retro-Specter and what happens? I have an hour before my first swim practice in a week, Im still sick and have a monster headache. Im not a happy camper... er, writer/swimmer.

Retro-Specter has the pink arrow. -_- Its depressing. But I have six swaps to do, so Ill live. I want to be under 25 for my birthday, in two weeks. I want to be DONE by my birthday in two weeks.

I havent looked at Maiden's Code. Its at/around 500 I think. Which is pretty good.

Im the Pink Panther leader for now O.O which reminds me... HI ANN. Thank chu for joining meh blog :3

Brian, you'll have your book back today. Sorry for the long wait.

So, I saw an X-Men commercial. I wanna see that movie. And I want my HarperCollins books. Im pretty sure Becki didnt even enter the order, after I went and messaged her with my address.

Anyways, Cya.

Saturday, May 21, 2011

Something more sinister is at play in Ateria.

"When nothing but the cry of the Phoenix across the bloodstained battlegrounds did I lose all control. The scarce tears transformed into a torrent of racking sobs. My tainted sword clattered to the dirt and I dropped to my knees. So many dead. So many lost. Victory at all costs? This wasn't fair to anyone, even if we did win. Half the castle was in ruins. The entire country was in turmoil. They needed their king to lead them. Me. And I only had room in my heart to grieve for what I had lost. I stood, brushing away the tears. She may have died in my arms, but I wasn’t done with her yet.”

THAT is an excerpt from the end of Maiden's Code: Nikolas's point of view. *smirks* I updated today. Yay me.

Im still sick >_> and Im about to go play on video games.

So there's my brief post for the day. I may post again later. Cya.

Friday, May 20, 2011

Been a while. Sorry guys.

I'm really sick. Like, I'm blowing my nose every other minute, stand up and get dizzy/queasy, hacking and coughing all the time sick. Hold on, I gotta go open another tissue box.... Right, so I won't be at swim practice again today (someone tell Nick, please) and I probably won't get any writing done either. I'll finish reading Antigone and then I'm totally starting my Sanctuary/Eureka marathon. Or pulling out Oblivion and playing on that video game all day. I feel like I'm dying.

Retro-Specter is at 30, but only cuz otakupiggie took Imaginary Friends down and put it on private. Maiden's Code got a nice short comment, saying they didn't like Kat and loved Niko XD They're coming back to write a line-by-line comment. I looked at their profile >_> wow. They have links to both Retro-Specter and Maiden's Code on there. I feel honored to have a character that needs a good spanking.

Thank you, for all the lovely support to Scorched. Lithia even made me a cover. It looks pretty awesome. You can see it here. Awesome work, gurl.

So, I can't finish Retro-Specter until someone tells me how to play Parcheesi. Yes, it's vital to the story. And I need to go back and edit Maiden's Code soon. Merf. ._. At least I can rerewrite my first chapter of Retro-Specter.

Oh look. Its raining. Sounds like hail, though. And now I'm leaving to go play video games and cough my lungs out. Tell Nick I want orchids at my funeral.

Later. If there is a later.

Tuesday, May 17, 2011

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Why must all adorable and amazing men be fictional? There's Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Artemis Fowl, Arthur Crow (*snicker*), Nikolas Handall (*another snicker*) and my personal favorite, Nikola Tesla. Not the scientist (though he is awesome), the even more amazing, magnetic, vampire genius. Sanctuary, why must you torment me? *sigh*

Moving on.... Retro-Specter is at 32. YAY. I can hardly believe it! And I haven't written any of it today because of this:

Scorched
Book: Humor, Fantasy, Adventure
Hope you like heights. You’re about to go on the ride of your life.

Drake and Kaida never saw it coming. High school life was supposed to be normal with only the stress of grades and tests to worry about. They didn’t have to worry about anything bigger. Until it came. Two shiny, large oval eggs. Then popularity was the last thing they could think of, instead they chose to worry about not getting eaten by mythical creatures.

The brother and sister were blessed ungracefully with two baby dragons. Who are growing a little too fast for their Texas apartment. And they have no idea how to raise or feed them. One thing is for sure, though. These dragons need help from the most plentiful, powerful race on the planet: humans. And somehow, being blessed with the dragons turns out to be less of a mistake as they thought.

Everybody has a destiny. Everybody has a fate. Some people arrive quietly; others skid in on giant winged dragons. But how you get there is what really matters, what you do on the road to your final destination. For Drake and Kaida, their destination is the mother of all dragon lairs.

It’s just the matter of getting there that’s the problem.
So, yeah. New novel. About dragons.
Maiden's Code is at 625. And Ive swapped once (only because EtherealNight is awesome).
So, what up?

Monday, May 16, 2011

YO.

Ive started like five thread titles with the word "yo" in it. I dunno why....

The meet was a disappointment. Nuff said.

Retro-Specter has a chapter ninteen! *party horns* And I just finished chapter twenty-seven >:D Yeah, suck on that. Its not even three months and Im almost done with my rough draft. HALLAH.

Maiden's Code now has some constructive comments so I can work on my first chapter.

Im kinda busy right now. The ends of chapters twenty-six and twenty-seven are so awesome they will make you cry.

So. YO. WHAT UP?

Friday, May 13, 2011

400 IM.... here I come.

WHOO-HOO.
Nope, not feeling it. Well, I dont have a CLUE what time I need. But some cool stuff happened today.

So, I found ten new Two Steps From Hell songs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Em42XjJKSX8&feature=related
That song makes me want to get up off my butt and save the world. THAT plus my mom talking about Zodiac signs and Tarot cards... I know my plan for the third book in the Retro-Specter series. Mwhaha. Now, to get up off my butt and write it.

Im almost done with Retro-Specter. AND I HAVE A NEW CHAPTER ONE. Check it here.
Maiden's Code has been recieved well. I have successfully corrupted inkpop! You wanna see smexy Niko? You know you do (unless youre a guy... then you would want to see Kat. Sees cool too.). Here. Click HERE.

So, um, would Coach Nick kill me if I got DQ'd on 400 IM today? Cuz I sorta kinda maybe already used my DQ for the season. *smiles innocently*

Wednesday, May 11, 2011

Bad dum chhhh

No, Christopher, its NOT funny. Okay, Ive read the book already, and if you cant keep talking with out saying "um" every other word, Im not going to laugh. Thanks, Brian, for letting me borrow Vespers Rising. My brother was happy -_-

SO. Today, I started rewriting the first chapter of Retro-Specter. I know, I promised not to do that til AFTER I finish, but I couldnt wait. And I have the first line down! YAY! Yuffie is helping me too ^_^ Thank you Yuffie. You are awesome, with your superheroness and Cleon is awesome too. *pets*

Maiden's Code is at 775 right now, and my five lovely comments have nothing negitive to say! Nikolas and Katarina are pleased, as is Ginger. My writin has deffinitely improved.

I found a penny under the couch today.

In about 15 minutes Ill be doing my singing lesson -_- not interested. The Joys of Maidenhood hates me, though I love the musical.

Randomosities: I have a Sonic Sweet Iced Tea. My dad just left for work. My brother is being a dweeb. Im blogging. And watching Yuffie be... well, be Yuffie. Oh, and Im writing chapter 27. I cant believe Im almost done. Dear Lord.

Now. If you post first Ill throttle you. XD stop arguing.

Im SORRY!

I havent posted in forever....

Retro-Specter is at 33 and has a chapter eighteen! http://www.inkpop.com/projects/94667/retro-specter/

Maiden's Code is OUT and as Im writing has 16 picks. Thatll be different from tomorrow, or even two minutes from now. For inkies: TS 3, 4, 5 and 7 picked it. Lex was litterally racing Sara Real to get the first pick. The TS 2 is on my notification list. Im shocked, slightly (hehe, guess Im expecting a new top project ^_^'') but it makes me happy!
A link: http://www.inkpop.com/projects/106083/maiden-s-code/

No quote. Sorry. How bout... "To Katarina, "fate" is just another four letter word. And "Nikolas" means trouble." ~Maiden's Code short pitch.

My iTouch has been on all my songs so.... "Hey Baby (Drop it to the Floor)" by Pitbull. And "Life After You" by Daughtry.

So. Yo? Wassup?

I KNOW I'M SORRY!

Yes, I missed a few days... a week. So I'm sorry. Forgive me?

Retro-Specter is at 40, and two people were supposed the pick it >_> they HAVEN'T. I'm at 63,000 words RIGHT NOW. And heres a link: http://www.inkpop.com/projects/94667/retro-specter/ Oh and this book sucks, so I wouldn't click that link if I were you. I mean, the author can't even write a decent short pitch. The prologue to Tourniquet is posted here.

Music: Walk Away (feat. B.o.B.) by The Script
Quote: "If I had somewhere better to be, I wouldn't be here."

I'm pissed, if you didn't know. I got DQ'ed from 200 IM. And I really don't want to ever touch chlorine again, in my life. Screw fifty meters, screw 200 IM, screw my crappy swimming skills and screw my book, which is the worst piece of crap I've ever seen.

If I don't show up to practice ever again, tell Nick why. Actually, don't; he'll probably force me to come then ._.

Out.

Happy Easter!

Chocolate, bunnies, donuts, coffee and staying home so I can notify my eighty-five people that I uploaded chapter 17. So go read NOW! Actually stay and read the rest of this post before you read.

Retro-Specter is at 43. With three promises to pick. So whoo-hoo. Yeah, I'm not in a good mood, big suprise. As soon as I finish writing I'll start REwriting. Answering questions: Michelle, Maiden's Code isn't up yet, sorry. Retro-Specter comes first, since that's my major project. And I'm not liking Maiden's Code or Tourniquet right now. Heck, I'm not even liking RS! But if you're bored, go read The Locket on my inkpop profile. Mushroom: No. Just no. Chapter 17 marks a little over 40k words. Link: http://www.inkpop.com/projects/94667/retro-specter/

Music and quotes have been put on hold.

I'm exhausted.

How are you?

Saturday, April 23, 2011

Okay. Fine. I'm done arguing.

I am. I'll accept you love my book. I will, but don't expect me to see anything but fault. I see mistakes, errors and the first three chapters that have to be rewritten as soon as I finish the book. So, Hana, consider this my "I surrender, throw me a party and swap/promote for my book all you like" (yes, lovely, I did see that thread and I did get a comment. Why are you not swapping for The Hiddens, missy? Don't you dare give up on that book >:O) white flag deal. I will stop arguing with you.

For now.

In regards to Retro-Specter, hopefully chapter seventeen will be up tonight. As of right now it sits at *checks and dies* 44. And I want the green arrow to stay. I'd also like it if you would give me time to finish and rewrite the darn 90,000 word book! Anywhom... http://www.inkpop.com/projects/94667/retro-specter/

So, Maiden's Code is coming along okay. Not sure I like it yet, but more sword fights to come, if I live through the romance scenes. Unfortunately, the book wouldn't be the same without them. Tourniquet is doing pretty well, and I'm sure Hana and Savanna will love it. I don't think I'm at a 1,000 words yet... Retro-Specter is my priority.

No quote, no music.
Swimming=butterfly. Wasn't that fun, Brian?

Plans for tomorrow, y'all?

Friday, April 22, 2011

Friday. Thank gosh.

Not because of the song, but because Sanctuary 312 is tonight. Hangover better be good, 'cause if it ain't Im gunna hurt somebody (*coughs* Damian Kindler! *coughs*). I'm in a bad mood. Very bad. And so far, chocolate and chips hasn't helped. I pray for your soul if you have to talk to me today. And I still can't sleep -_- thanks for your help though, Hana.

Book: Retro-Specter. I have important news regarding this "fabulous" novel (yes, I got a comment saying it was fabulous, and that they had to read it because apparently inkpop is hyped up because of my book. These rumors have not been confirmed by me, but everytime I enter a thread the topic of discussion changes from popular books to something else O.o inkies, I'm watching you. If you can confirm these rumors, that Retro-Specter really is being ranted about, I will fall into a surprise induced coma. Thank you for your time, fungus is good for your personal health). This news is that today, hopefully, chapter 17 will be posted, and that will mark the 40,000 word mark, or about halfway. I would also like to say that yesterday, the two month anniversary, was successful. I now sit at rank 47.

Music: whatever you want. -_-
Quote: "As if I have a bloody choice." ~Deirdra. And no, sweetheart, you don't.
Swimming: I skipped yesterday due to extreme exhaustion. Today is the same, but I don't think I'll be skipping.

So. Happy Easter Friday.

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Dun dun DUN!

Chapter sixteen of Retro-Specter is up. And y'all're going to hate me for the way it ends. Mostly because that is the last chapter I'm putting up. The rest you'll see when it gets to the top five or when its on a book store shelf, all edited and pretty. ***This choice may change. If it does you'll be the second to know.***

So. Music: Evanescence. Again, 'nuff said.

Quote: “I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... Such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything.” ~Nikola Tesla.

Book: Retro-Specter. http://www.inkpop.com/projects/94667/retro-specter/

So, I have a new book idea. And I'm posting the pitch, so you can give your opinions.

[Untitled] (Tourniquet)
Being hunted isn’t easy. But what if you were the one doing the hunting?

Cassandra is lost in a world not her own. A practical joke and dare gone wrong brings her into modern society, away from her homeland through the rift between worlds. A traumatizing experience in this land with carriages that aren’t pulled by horses and people that wear clothing exposing their knees. As if that wasn’t enough.

Now she’s forced to train and fight, for the good of all people, to keep the creatures of her home from breaching the gap between worlds and destroying lives of innocent people. Modern humans have never seen myths in flesh. And they don’t want to, for it could mean destruction to both worlds. Cassandra must join the elite group of warriors, what the Greeks remember as the Hunt of Artemis, and protect the balance. Stemming the flow of monsters is vital to the peace of both worlds.

The rift has opened again. Myths are drawn from the corners and shadows of both worlds.

The Hunt is on. And things are about to get ugly.
***
Well? Ive got four people on the notification list. Hana, Mom, Angel and A.K.A.

Swimming. -_- again. Im convinced Im going to puke or pass out.

*bangs head on keyboard*

Today is one of those days, when I look at what I've done and only see mistakes. I don't see the 61 next to my project. I see the typos, the infodumps, the crappy sentences that need to be fixed. But I can't stop writing because if I do stop to edit I'll just hurt myself. So I'm going to keep going on Retro-Specter and finish it. Then I'll rewrite. Maybe then I won't scare so many people away.

Thanks to Fungus and Michelle for reading the first chapter. Those grammar mistakes will be fixed when I finish. And Fungus, I like my blog, so go fix your own. At your own risk do you dare teach me to use technology. I'll stick to my iTouch, thanks.

Music: Evanescence. 'Nuff said. They aren't so good live, but from speakers of my iPod they rock. Literally.

Quote: “If Edison had a needle to find in a haystack, he would proceed at once with the diligence of the bee to examine straw after straw until he found the object of his search.
I was a sorry witness of such doings, knowing that a little theory and calculation would have saved him ninety per cent of his labor.”
~Nikola Tesla.

What am I missing? Oh, swim practice. -_- That just gets "the face".

So, any complaints? Comments? Concerns? Money? *holds out hat*

Oh and a big that you to MusicIsMe (on inkpop) and mzmroxx (also inkpop). Music for the Maiden's Code cover. Its fabulous, and works for a fantasy/action/romance combination. Mzmroxx for helping me develop my three main characters, Deirdra, Guinevere and Arthur. It needed work.

Sunday, April 17, 2011

Due to popular request....

You guys are hysterical. ^_^ The quote section is back. And Fungus, the mistake in the summary was made because I type to fast and haven't fixed it yet. Blargh, says Bob the Familiar Guy. He agrees with me :P

Now, for those of you who don't know me, ignore that above paragraph.
Quote of the day: "Let the future tell the truth, and evaluate each one according to his work and accomplishments. The present is theirs; the future, for which I have really worked, is mine." ~Nikola Tesla (the dude that made the USA run on alternating current)
One day, I shall do a full analysis of the life of Nikola Tesla. And I'll post it here. This man is truely amazing. Choices: agree or die :P

Music: Two Steps From Hell. These guys are making the plot nubbins run rampant.
Book: Retro-Specter. http://www.inkpop.com/projects/94667/retro-specter/

So. Swim meet in two weeks. -_- I'm going to die. Nick, why did you put me in all freestyle events?!

For those of you who ACTUALLY read this: *hug*

Home, Where the Heart Resides

Does that mean my home is nonexistant? Because so far, I have no where to store my heart... Just a moment of reflection. Where is your heart?

Pax Romana was amazing. 'Nuff said.

Book of the day: Retro-Specter! http://www.inkpop.com/projects/94667/retro-specter/

Music: Two Steps From Hell. I've fallen in love with this music.

So, short post today, yes, but Ive been busy. Ate a cake for my brother's birthday party.

So, how are you?

Friday, April 15, 2011

AH!!!

I know I already posted today, so this one is short: Sanctuary, Pax Romana, episode 311. Was. Amazing to bring the season back. No Tesla, but I have high opes for the next episode >.< why must I wait another week?!

It's Friday. You KNOW what that means.

It means that that stupid song is stuck in my head -_- GAH! Fungus, my planks are better than yours, but yes, Bob's planks and running was fail of the century. Hope he doesn't read this blog... or I'm dead. *laughs with Hana* (I do reply to my comments, in my posts *is proud*)

Still sore. Very sore. -_-

Music: Linkin Park, The Catalyst.

Book: Tuneful, a book on inkpop. http://www.inkpop.com/projects/83003/tuneful/ Great piece of work.

Hmm... well, update on Retro-Specter. I'm now at a little over 50,000 words, and you are going to hate what I do after that. Well, you love it, but hate it at the same time. Hehe.... :P deal with it. Trendies rule. Saying that now, thats what side I'm on.

How was your day? New music? Plans for the weekend?

Thursday, April 14, 2011

O.O Bwhahaha

This was my reaction when I went back and read my blog comments. Thanks Fungus the Mushroom King. You meant it when you said you posted "To be or not to be" on my blog three times. You get a gold star, er, fungus. And Bob approves. He says blargh.

So, please excuse that little spiel, unless you personally know Fungus. He is a bit strange at times. Like today, instead of doing planks like he was supposed to (ahem) he insisted my name was not Pheonix, nor Katie. -_- Now, everyone on my swim team thinks my name is... well, something other than my name. Sorry, Fungus, thought it was a squid. My mistake, its a jellyfish.

I dont have a book today. Whoops.

Music: Bon Jovi and The Fray

Sports update: Long course swim meet on the 30th. Ill be celebrating Retro-Specter's nine week birthday by sprinting my guts out in the water and goofing off with me amicos between heats. Lets go, COPS! And try not to lose another good coach to Metro or COR. We miss you, Chris!

Well, thats about it for now. So, how are you? ^_^ It tickles me that people actually read this!

Wednesday, April 13, 2011

Let me be frank. (You be Bob)

You may recognize this post title as a thread title. Or not. Anyways, this'll be short 'cause I can't sit still very well. Reason(s)? Well, have you ever run three miles in twenty minutes? Then done lunges for ten and push-ups for another ten? Then swum all-out for two hours non-stop? No? Be thankful, the results are waddling around the house because it hurts to try to sit, or go from aitting to standing. It hurts to carry things around because your biceps and triceps kill you. You can't even sit up in the morning because your abs hurt so much. Basically, it sucks. Oh, did I mention I did the same thing again today? Yeah, that was yesterdays work-out. Now do it again. And I have a nasty blister on the inside bridge of my foot that stings.

Book: -_- all I read today was To Kill a Mockingbird.

Music: Gah! Don't Fear the Reaper. Hey Baby (Drop it to the Floor) by Pitbull.

No quote today, sorry. Ill give two tomorrow.

So, how are you? :) I'm reading all (one) comments I get!

Work Samples *bangs head on desk*

Ew. For those of you who don't know what work samples are: they are when you send in samples of your work :) Cheeky. I have to send one of every subject o my teacher -_- blech.

Book. Pulished: Eoin Colfer's Airman. Unpublished: I'm bumping The Hiddens again. Here.

Music: Again by Flyleaf and Sweet Sacrifice by Evanescence. The rock genre on my iTouch has been unleashed.

Quote from yesterday: "I hate the idea of causes, and if I had to choose between betraying my country and betraying my friend, I sure hope I have the guts to betray my country." ~ E. M. Forster

Quote for today: "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. ~ Thomas Edison. (Thanks Hana) Wise words Mr. Edison, but I'm afraid Tesla wouldn't agree.

So, as you can tell, my post today is rather short. That's 'cause I'm exhausted and would rather fall asleep right now than go to swim practice. But I don't have a choice, mainly 'cause I can't sleep -_-

Anywhom, how was your day? Any tests at school? Find a new song you'd like to share? A cool book? A scientist quote?

Monday, April 11, 2011

Alas, but with good grace go I....

That, friends, was and interesting conversation, to say the very least. So, I'd like to point to the fish at the bottom of the screen. They like it when you answer the poll right above their swimming little bodies. I'd also like to point to the list of books... over there ----> If I'm missing one, please inform me. So I can read it and add it to that list.

Book time. Published book of the day is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. A classic. I'm reading it for school, and its sitting in front of me right now, so I dont have to go searching for a book on my overflowing bookshelf. Unpublished book of the day is J. A. Waggoner's book Ryan Miles and the Petal's Curse. http://www.inkpop.com/projects/65692/ryan-miles-and-the-petal-s-curse/ Tah-dah. 'Tis a very good book. Oh, dear, here comes the medieval lingo again....

Music! Two songs today; Eat You Up by BoA and Till the World Ends by Britney Spears. Fate is really funny, was watching TV and these two songs came on my iPod one after another.... while Jonathon Young was on the screen. Sooo not fair. Meh, continuing on...

Quote of the day: I hate the idea of causes, and if I had to choose between betraying my country and betraying my friend, I hope I should have the guts to betray my country” ~E. M. Forster
Indeed, Mr. Forster. Wise words.

Bah, swimming is starting to make me queazy....

And, now, I want to know your opinions again. How was your Monday? You have homework? What is the third song on your iPod when you shuffle? First quote you find in a book you love? Look at that poll, the fish and list of books.

I'm learning!

I am. I'm so proud of myself, I figured out how to add gadgets. With the help of Hana.... but still! (Thank you, Hana) I'm also learning that you shouldn't procrastinate. You regret it later.... >.< t-shirt = "Procrastinators unite! ... later. Yes, I'm adopting that motto today.

Book time, because I know you all love to look at the book links and such. Today's published book is Unearthly by Cynthia Hand. I've heard good things about this book, and Ms. Hand was very nice to talk to on inkpop. Best wishes for Ms. Hand and her trilogy! And thank you for answering our questions. Now, todays unpublished book is *drumroll, please and thank you* The Hidden's by Hana Rain! Fantasy and romance lovers unite! (This is an indirect prod toward the author *coughs* to *cough* update? *puppy eyes*) Linkity link! http://www.inkpop.com/projects/91808/the-hiddens/ I have no problem putting this on here. Because so far, I'm pretty sure all my followers are inkies, and if you are viewing this blog anyways, go make an account to read this book >:O

Music time! Yay! *pathetic failing bagpipes play* Okay, I need a better band. ANYWHOM, my spotlight song of the day is Written in the Stars (feat. Erik Turner) by Tinie Tempah. I love this song.

Now, lastly (and most importantly) HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTOPHER! My brother turns 11 today! *party horns blow, bagpipes fail again* Enjoy your cake. And your dragon is in the mail.

Now, I want to know how your Sunday morning is. Your book pick, your music spotlight? Your new motto? A quote, perhaps? I should start featuring those, shouldn't I? Yes, yes I should...

Saturday, April 9, 2011

Thank goodness... its not FRIDAY!

That song is annoying. And, of course, its stuck in my head! *turns iTouch all the way up, searches for rock music* Okay, bad music aside, today started out great... got in the pool, swam vigorously for two and a half hours, and I'm now about to drop asleep in front of the computer. I can confidently say that chlorine tastes weird first thing in the morning.

So, first order of business: Fungus, this is for you. Turitopsisouroboros. Thats how its spelled. That is apparently my new name. The squid-snake.

Secondly, Retro-Specter is hovering at a pretty eighty-two, but I would be happier if it was sitting at a pretty seventy-eight. And then you can have a new chapter ^_^ so lets fix that... with a link. http://www.inkpop.com/projects/94667/retro-specter/

Now, enough about me. I want to know how your Saturday morning is going. Your opinions on music, on Fungus and Bob the Familiar Guy, and good books you've read recently. And rope your friends into this little circle of people.

Friday, April 8, 2011

Heyy Y'all!

Look at that... I made a blog ^_^ 'bout time. So, welcome to my page, where I'll post about upcoming stuff... and to get you started, check out my book, Retro-Specter, on inkpop.com.
