Dun dun DUN!

Chapter sixteen of Retro-Specter is up. And y'all're going to hate me for the way it ends. Mostly because that is the last chapter I'm putting up. The rest you'll see when it gets to the top five or when its on a book store shelf, all edited and pretty. ***This choice may change. If it does you'll be the second to know.***

So. Music: Evanescence. Again, 'nuff said.

Quote: “I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... Such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything.” ~Nikola Tesla.

Book: Retro-Specter. http://www.inkpop.com/projects/94667/retro-specter/

So, I have a new book idea. And I'm posting the pitch, so you can give your opinions.

[Untitled] (Tourniquet)
Being hunted isn’t easy. But what if you were the one doing the hunting?

Cassandra is lost in a world not her own. A practical joke and dare gone wrong brings her into modern society, away from her homeland through the rift between worlds. A traumatizing experience in this land with carriages that aren’t pulled by horses and people that wear clothing exposing their knees. As if that wasn’t enough.

Now she’s forced to train and fight, for the good of all people, to keep the creatures of her home from breaching the gap between worlds and destroying lives of innocent people. Modern humans have never seen myths in flesh. And they don’t want to, for it could mean destruction to both worlds. Cassandra must join the elite group of warriors, what the Greeks remember as the Hunt of Artemis, and protect the balance. Stemming the flow of monsters is vital to the peace of both worlds.

The rift has opened again. Myths are drawn from the corners and shadows of both worlds.

The Hunt is on. And things are about to get ugly.

  1. *waves* Yes! I'm the first to comment! I'll get caught up on reading RS, I promise. What? Well, I have heard that idea from you before, but don't you think Top 100 is a bit more. . . wait, never mind. You are in the Top 100 XD
Good pitches, of course. I've already commented on it. Don't get the rift part though (1st and last paragraph) The last line is the strongest of it all, I think.
Awesome, I'm first on the notification list! *dances*
Aw. Good luck with the swimming. Wait. . . don't swim if you feel bad!!!!

  3. Did you puke? Did you pass out? And that book would seem to be the perfect place to implement a creature known as Po the poison spitting boar.(really, you need to add him)Po is a person at my school who has owed me $25 since LAST YEAR!!!!! and I don't suppose he is going to pay me ever, so I shall get revenge by putting him in a book (well, convincing someone else to) as an antagonist (doesn't have to be major)and GETTING THE BOOK PUBLISHED FOR ALL TO KNOW OF HIS EVILNESS!!!!! Anyways, I got the idea of making him a poison spitting boar from his obsession of pigs, and the fact that he spit on a flower one day, and the flower died the next day. I AM THE MUSHROOM KING!!!! Oh, and DANG IT, I MISSED FIRST AGAIN!!!!!

  5. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO FAIL TO UNDERSTAND WHAT A RIFT IS!!!!!

A rift is basically a crack or an opening in something. It is sometimes used in fantasy related stories to represent a portal between two different worlds. In this case, it is the portal that leads between Cassandra's Greek mythology world, and the modern world.

Anyways, this post contains an akward font change. I can understand why you would change the font of the summary, but the font reverted back in the last sentence, which would've looked better in the summary font. This gives the post an akward and sloppy feel to it.

  6. why is EVERYONE being impossible today?!?!?!?!?! First, Jimmy doesn't come to practice. Next, Jack was swimming FREESTYLE on the 5x75's best stroke when he was doing backstroke...WTF?!?!?! Third, NOBODY in my freaking lane made the interval, which is kind of sad, because IT WAS SO FREAKING EZ (no offense Katie). Best of all, VICTORIA DIDN'T COME TO PRACTICE!!!!! I will KILL her Sunday...whatever.
I think the ending's ok, actually.
Like the idea for the new book. It sounds intriguing.
